Al Centro Cerámica
Founded in 2019, Al Centro Cerámica is the brainchild of Michele de Alba, who designs her stoneware pieces in Guadalajara, Jalisco and produces them in collaboration with workshops in neighboring Tonalá y Tlaquepaque — family-run artisan groups who have been working with pottery for at least two generations. Once each piece is formed on the potter’s wheel or with molds, it undergoes an initial drying process that can take days or weeks depending on the season. The pieces then undergo a firing at 600 degrees Celsius, are glazed with one of Al Centro’s signature colors, and are then returned to the oven at 1,100-1,200 degrees Celsius — a high-temperature firing that ensures long-lasting durability. Al Centro Cerámica considers themselves “firm believers in the bond that exists between the one that creates, the one that shares, and the one that consumes.” We’re delighted to share their pieces and hope that you’ll love incorporating their tableware into your daily rituals as much as we do.
