This whimsical piece is crafted in Yojuela, a riverside community nestled within the Sierra Sur region of Oaxaca. It comes to us through Tendajón de Barro, an artisan initiative founded in 2020 by Elia Lopez and Arturo Bravo. The candleholder features a traditional donkey carrying small side vessels tied with fiber twine. By bringing these distinctive, joyful designs to new markets, Tendajón de Barro works collaboratively with local makers to preserve and revitalize Yojuela's rich history of pottery-making.
